Welcome! I am Patricia Bolger

I'm excited to announce that I am seeking re-election as CBE School Board Trustee for Wards 6 & 7.

Over the past 4 years our Board has been successful advocating for 15 new CBE schools and important changes to the funding model.

The Board of Trustees continues to serve and fulfill its responsibilities until a new Board is elected and takes the oath of office in October.

ABOUT PATRICIA

Patricia holds a Master of Education (Science) and a Bachelor of Education specializing in Early Childhood Education from the University of Alberta and has over a decade of experience teaching in Edmonton and Calgary area public schools.

Patricia is currently serving as Board Chair of the Calgary Board of Education, in her first term as Trustee for Wards 6 & 7. She previously taught at the University of Calgary in the Werklund School of Education as a Sessional and Field Instructor. Teaching and working with our future educators are roles she loved!

Meet Patricia

Patricia and her husband Paul have three children, now young adults. They all attended Calgary Board of Education schools including Jennie Elliott, Bishop Pinkham, Griffith Woods, Ernest Manning, and Central Memorial. All three are now off to different universities and playing the sports they love!

Patricia is a proud member of her community association and served on the Discovery Ridge Community Association Board for over a decade.  Over the years, Patricia has enjoyed serving on the Boards of various non-profits and sports organizations, managing teams and, of course, volunteering in her children's schools.

Patricia enjoys being outdoors, spending time with her friends and family, and reading great books with her bookclub. In her spare time Patricia can be found cheering on her favourite players in countless hockey rinks and lacrosse fields across the country and beyond.

PRIORITIES

BUILD MORE SCHOOLS

We have successfully advocated for 15 new CBE schools but even more learning spaces are needed. School enrolment continues to grow in Calgary.

INCREASE FUNDING

With a growing student population, inflation, and increased complexity in our schools an increase to base funding is essential.

EXCELLENCE

The Calgary Board of Education is a leader in K-12 education and continues to outperform the province. Continuous improvement and excellence must remain a priority.
